Operating Principle and Effects
When the input is connected to a DC 3–5 V power source, the secondary high-voltage output generates a purple, high-temperature arc up to 0.8 cm. The arc is silent, extremely hot, and can instantly ignite paper, cigarettes, or even cause thin wires to spark.
The transformer is resin-encapsulated for safety and reliability. Recommended continuous operation time is ≤ 1 minute. Ensure proper heat dissipation.

Soldering and Wiring Instructions
- The PCB silkscreen indicates component placements; solder according to the markings.
- Resistors are non-polarized, but ensure correct resistance values.
- Electrolytic capacitors are polarized: long lead is positive (+), short lead is negative (−), matching the PCB silkscreen.
- When connecting the power line to the terminal block, ensure correct polarity to avoid reverse connection.
- Ensure the chip is installed with the correct orientation.
Module Usage and Maintenance
1. Pre-Power-On Checks
- Verify correct polarity of the input power.
- Before powering on, adjust the high-voltage line spacing to 0.2–0.8 cm.
- Arc length is proportional to battery voltage/capacity: higher voltage results in a longer arc.
2. No-Load and Testing Restrictions
- Do not power on without a load; during testing, gradually adjust from short to longer distances.
- Maximum arc distance is ≤ 1 cm. Exceeding 1 cm may cause unreleased high-voltage energy, potentially damaging the module.
3. Operating Duration and Heat Dissipation
- The module has high power and poor heat dissipation; limit continuous operation to ≤ 1 minute and ensure proper cooling.
4. Power Requirements
- Input: DC 3–5 V, current ≥ 3 A, power ≥ 15 W.
- Prohibited: Using phone or power banks (insufficient current may damage the phone or power bank).
- Recommended: 3.7 V 18650 lithium battery. If the arc fails to form, shorten the distance or increase the voltage slightly.
5. Discharge Needle Maintenance
- The discharge needle is made of high-temperature-resistant iron; sharper tips improve discharge performance.
- After prolonged use, if the needle tip oxidizes, scrape it clean to restore performance.
